St. Cloud, Florida April 6, 2018


(It is my dad's birthday) 🍩🕯

We are in St. Cloud looking for it.

Where could it be?

Finally we found it. On the right of the road.

Since December I had waited for this.

I saw the sign.

I smiled.

I was about to have a fun time

Side Note: "It" was a

Serpentarium!!!


That is also where next blog takes place but....

Not in St. Cloud.

Ok, back to the story

We go in

and I am amazed by the snake shop.

They have everything snake related. They even had snakes for sale!

So we walk past the snake shop and there are turtles! We look at them for about five minutes, turn around and see a cute box turtle. We walk to the left and se lots of reptiles lizards, iguanas, crocodiles,and an alligator and a few birds.

Then we come back to the turtles and see a hall.... a hall of.... snakes?Yes!!!! A King Cobra (with a wooden eye) A few more cobras Two (Two!!!!!) Black mambas. Two green mambas. A lot of pythons. An array of rattlesnakes. and a fer-de-lance no just kidding, no fer-de-lances.  I held a milk snake. Although I was horribly scared it was a coral snake.

Snakes 2, here we go
   

               1.Australia is the only continent where venomous snakes actually outnumber the non-venomous ones.
              2.The Boa Constrictor is the only living animal which is commonly known by its full Latin name, boa constrictor. The only other example is the extinct Tyrannosaurus Rex.
              3.On April 1, 2007, Google sent an email to its employees warning that a python was loose in its New York Office. It was not a joke.
              4.The decapitated head of a dead snake can still bite hours after death. Because dead snakes can't regulate how much venom they inject, such bites can often contain large amounts of venom.
              

              5.Ball pythons are treated with great care when they happen to wander into a Nigerian village. They are allowed to roam freely or gently picked up and placed out in a forest or field. If    one is accidentally killed, many towns build a coffin for the snake's remains and give it a short funeral.

               6. Many snakes are venomous, the Tiger Keelback Snake is the only snake species that is also poisonous. They sequester toxins from poisonous toads they eat and ooze it out of glands on     the backs of their necks.

               7. An Inland Taipan in the world is the most venomous snake in the world. One dose can  kill 289 people. Second place can kill 65. By comparison, the Indian King Cobra can kill ten.

               8.King Cobras aren't actually true cobras and are called that because their diet consists of other snakes, including cobras  .

Tooth Blog

So, I have a friend. I know, right shocking! But, She lost her tooth. In a very unusual way. Me. The way was hilarious. Pinch Ow. Pinch Ouch, Stop that. Pinch Wa Wa Wa Wa. Whats wrong? {In between sobs } You You You. What?  My tooth Aaaah. So then I take off her glasses and Boom!
they're gone. What you do with my glasses? Uh,Uh. I get up and then I realize something. We are moving! AAAAAAAAAH. Bus Driver, help me out here. So we get to the REC, and I find her glasses. (I totally wasn't sitting on them by the way.) They're not broken, so that's good. Code red-Blood everywhere. So we get to the Rec. We eat a bagel. Hey, Colton my tooth just fell out. Cool.

Snakes

  Snakes... where do I begin? Oh yeah, if you don't like snakes this might not be the blog for you. Now that we got pretty much half the world out of the way. (It's actually more than 50%, its 51%). But nobody reads my blogs anyway. {Intensive Crying} So... if you are still here I'm pretty much going to go on a rant about snakes.


1./2. Black Mambas the fastest snake in the world and because we are so original at coming up with names, the Black Mamba is actually grey and sometimes green. But there is some logic to it's name. It gets it's name from the inky black inside their mouths.

3. The King Cobra is the largest venomous snake in the world growing up to be 18 feet long.

4. The longest snake ever recorded was a reticulated python named Medusa. She was 25 feet 2 inches.

 5. The longest snake ever living is named... Titanoboa. It is as huge as 48 feet, and weighs 1 and 1/2   tons (3000 lbs.!)!

In Missouri 2016

So around Columbus Day I went to Missouri for a wedding. It was a fun, long trip. We saw the Arch, watched movies and listened to  awesome music. We stayed in the Comfort Inn Hotel in Festus. It had awesome breakfast and awesome room service. I remember watching a Bill Nye about spiders right before the wedding. The hotel had such a cold refrigerator it froze my Sunny D! Those things are hard to freeze! It also had an awesome fitness center. That I only used once. What a terrible tragedy that was. I had a awful white board in the car that kept falling apart (No offense Nana) The wedding reception was sort of fun. It had Coke. (There should be a Bill Nye about coke). 

Happy 4th of July!

To truly have a good 4th of July why not learn the history!  This takes us back to 1776 to learn the real truth, the fireworks are supposed to be on the 2nd, the real signing of The Declaration of  Independence. But we claimed our Independence from England on the 4th so Win Win! In 1817 John Adams complained in a letter that America seemed uninterested in its past, that was all about to change. Unfortunately Adams died 9 years later on the 4th of July with Thomas Jefferson dead the same morning in 1826.  John Adams was mad because the holiday was on the 4th and the signing was on the 2nd. In the 1920's fireworks were ridiculously unsafe.  This year we celebrate America's 240th birthday!







Other famous things that happened on July 4th include:

* In 1831 James Monroe died.
* In 1870 Congress made it a National Holiday.
*Calvin Coolidge was born in 1872, our 30th president.
*Tokyo Rose was born in 1916 in California.
*The US flag flows with 50 stars in 1960 (thanks Hawaii)

Hi! I know what you are thinking; An 8-year old will have a somewhat good blog about politics - (and if you where thinking something else - TOO BAD) Question: Why is Hillary getting such bad ratings. Answer: ''The DONALD'' Trumped her. I give that a- :). Yes, that's right I just :) my own blog. High-Five for me! Oh and I'd like to forgive all you Republicans for the ''My dad is a late elephant'' I meant to say donkey. I have terrible news for any republican who likes Annie, Annie is a .................    DEMOCRAT!!!!!! Yes, you just have to watch the movie to find out. Question: Was Teddy Roosevelt a Republican? If you are a Democrat you probably said " No" and if  Republican you said ''Of Course". If you were a Republican you were.... of course right! Tomorrow is Memorial Monday so keep those soldiers' memories alive!

Florida Adventure 2016

So there I was dreaming about it. In one day I would be at Florida, then I hear a "it's time to wake up!" and I realized it was not just a dream. I cannot wait to see the snoring machine (Just Grandma).  So half way into our flight to (you know) THE HOUSE OF THE MOUSE they ask us if we want peanuts. I'm like (as always)  Uh... Yeah I do . She tosses them at me. What horrible service. Anyways we get to Florida and Grandma and Grandpa pick us up eventually. It was raining cats and dogs. So on Wednesday I danced with Sandy and did the Cotton-Eyed Joe with a bunch of other people. Then Bingo, who could not remember that fateful night. I would have won 30$ if my dad did not switch cards with me in the middle of the round. But nooo my dad had to switch cards with me and he won. Thursday we hit Siesta Key and a seagull almost pooped on us . At the end of the day my tooth fell out. Friday was April Fools , I had pizza despite my tooth and won shuffle board with the best partner ever Jerr Bear. (Jerry, yes the big fisherman).On Saturday Jerr Bear and Sandgirl (Sandy) took us on an awesome boat ride and we saw alligators! On Sunday we left Camp Florida Resort with out being heard. Grandma did some thing shocking that we will talk about forever. (I can't mention it here ). We got to Disney and I was elated. We were right by a pool but a bigger pool was farther up and better. So I was never bored. So we go to Disney Springs. The next day we go to EPCOT and there are these countries. You would think Canada would be better than it is. The American Adventure is cool but why where Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain the hosts of The American Adventure? They did not even come from the same era. Mexico was so fun that there was even a boat ride. Morocco had a bunch of Fezzes. Later on we ran to the gift shops. After we went to the gift shops we saw a bug . My dad saw a very similar bug.  I love Florida. Except for the bugs. Thanks Bugs!

I ditched the night at Aunt Marilyns

Okay I know your wondering what is the title "I ditched the night at Aunt Marilyns" means but it is just a catchy title for Thanksgiving.  And this was not your average typical Thanksgiving.  It was a fun one.  So back to the beginning shall we, you know us early birds are always up doing something early.  (Yes I am talking to you grandma) (ha ha ha) Well I was up early with my domino set (causing commotion) which forced daddy to wake up.   (He is a late elephant) .  I made most of the tracks until it went Kaboom .  Daddy did only one track while I was downstairs (and by downstairs I mean basement) getting paper towels.  He gave up quickly and made me make more tracks that fall down  and practically made me look like a failure.  (At least better than Hilary Clinton in these debates).  (If you think that was funny give my blog two likes!)  Yes probably everything else was everyday life.  But no!  It was Thanksgiving (Good thing the Grinch did not steal Thanksgiving that would be bad).  So off to Aunt Marilyns we go.  And to our surprise...Sadie the cute puppy was here  .If your Aunt Marilyn read this (Sadie looks like a Husky).  Like always there where lots of pies near the dishwasher.  We said hi to many of our family members like always.  Then I played Hide-and-go-Seek with Grace.  Mikayla had to help me a bit.  I hid good but Grace needed help.(#whydoesGraceneedhelp?)  Then we ate food food food food food food food food food.  (#whyyoueatsomuchfood).  Which reminds me I ate a lot of food on Thanksgiving.  And then we played with my domino set by almost toppling 134 dominoes down. (Barely) .  Time to leave! Sadie did the Waltz with me.  Back to Nana's house for toppling dominoes.  

The Betrayal

I once had a best friend a good best friend, we talked British, went to Gate and played together.  Then she betrayed me.  I did not know what to do.  I hadn't been betrayed before.  It hurts to be friends with someone who betrayed you.  She has not played with me ever since then.  I decided to be friends with her now. she plays with her other friends after she would play with me.  She says she will play with me but doesn't.  What kind of friend is that?  But if she betrays me again I will write a better post about it.

My Florida Adventure

Once upon a time a little boy went to Florida with his dad  . It was the little boy who had not been on an airplane before.  The little boy was worried.   The dad told him to cover his ears. The boy mostly played on his kindle on the trip.  He thought about his friends and what they were doing.  Thinking not or never once about his friend at Disney.  Once they got to Florida it was a hot mess.  Where were grandma and grandpa?  Finally they arrived!  The little boy noticed cookies in the car.  The grandpa drove them to the restaurant.   The family took the food to their trailer.  The little boy was excited because he hadn't been here before.   It was about time to get to bed.  The little boy had to sleep on the table.   He didn't enjoy it but he didn't say a peep.   He woke up tired and amazed not remembering anything from yesterday.   Then he'd remembered he had been captured by royal guards.  Oh no he hadn't been captured he had been on a vacation.  When he woke up he was shocked when he saw his grandma up.  (His grandma doesn't usually wake up before him)  She said we were going to the pool.  The little boy was excited he had not been in an Floridan pool before.  The family got their swimming trunks on and had some fun.   I got to see the 'big fisherman'.  The family left briefly after that .  They went back home to get their phone to geocache.  The trailer was right outside the store or at least a little ways.  There was a wonderful geocache near the store.  We didn't find the geocache but we tried to find it.  Then the family went to the store.  The little boy had a strong feeling of joy as they went back home in their cart.  The little boy felt as if to burst or explode with happiness.  The little boy had to sleep on the table again!  What a nightmare.  The next morn he woke his grandma and dad up.  His grandma played slap jack with him and zany eights was no use so we went swimming in the Gulf Of Mexico!  And there were no jellyfish in the part of sea partially surrounded by land.  The boy was full of excitement.  They were going to Disney.  They stopped to get donuts on the way to Orlando.  Once they got into Disney the grandpa did not know what he was doing.  He was lost but then he found his way.  We found our hotel.  Then we went swimming.  At last we got to go in our room.  They had this Mickey electronic thing.  Our room was wonderful.  They had lots of Mickey things at Disney.  Downtown Disney was fun.  When it was time to say goodbye life gave me lemons so I made lemonade.  Stay tuned for betrayal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My First Blog

Hi I am Colton Morefield I am in third grade.  I have a friend who betrayed me.  I lost my two front teeth so I am now a toothless wonder.  And you should know I love elements!  I have collected state magnets over the years and now I practically have them all!  I love Halloween candy!I go to Gate.  Gate is for brainy people.  We are studying pioneers.  Pioneers seem like friendly people. I am friendly too!  When I grow up I will move to Alaska!  I know that sounds crazy but I want to.  Surprising or not my favorite state is Alaska.  I have two cousins I know they have fun games some of mine are better some worst. (most are worst.)I want Shopkins for Christmas.  Stay tuned!
